How we automated our entire Monday reporting in 3 hours

Every Monday at 9am, our leadership team used to spend 40 minutes pulling the same numbers from Stripe, HubSpot and Mixpanel. We automated all of it in an afternoon.
The three workflows we built
Workflow 1 — Revenue snapshot
Trigger: Every Monday at 8:00am Actions:
- Pull MRR, new MRR and churned MRR from Stripe
- Calculate week-over-week change
- Post formatted summary to #revenue Slack channel
Workflow 2 — Pipeline alert
Trigger: Any deal stale for 7+ days in HubSpot Actions:
- Flag the deal in NovaMind
- Assign a task to the account owner
- Send a Slack DM with deal context
Workflow 3 — Weekly AI digest
Trigger: Every Monday at 7:45am (runs before Workflow 1) Actions:
- Pull all key metrics from the past 7 days
- Generate AI summary with anomalies highlighted
- Attach to the Slack message from Workflow 1
What we learned
The hardest part wasn't building the automations. It was deciding what not to automate. Start with the report you write manually every week and work backwards from there.
